Safe Environment
St. Anthony's Parish is committed to creating a safe environment within the Church for children and youth. Safe Environment is a comprehensive program designed to promote a safe environment for children, youth, and vulnerable adults, and to prevent child sexual abuse. At the direction of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, this program was started in all dioceses across the United States.
All adults employed by the Catholic Church or adults who volunteer on a consistent basis and have unsupervised contact with minors must go through the Safe Environment Training, and a background check, prior to working in a ministry with minors. You are required to take the Safe Environment Training every five years. It is the responsibility of the head of each ministry to see to it that all Safe Environment Training is completed for volunteers in their respective ministries. Records of completion are kept at the parish office. Every year an audit is conducted and a report is submitted to the Diocese of Honolulu.
