Religious Education
Objectives In keeping with the Mission Statement of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, all those who are called to serve in the catechetical ministry of the church work together to carry out these specific objectives:
Religious Education Classes
Kids Word Ages 5-10 Kids Word allows children of elementary age (age 5-10) to hear scripture in a language they can understand. Children are invited to celebrate the word after the opening prayer at the 6:30am and 8:30am Masses. This DOES NOT replace the formal religious education of your child.
Religious Education
Grades K through 8 The Religious Education Program is lectionary-based and encourages children to live the Sunday Gospel message. The program is intended for children in K-8 who attend public or private non-Catholic schools. However, Catholic school children are also invited to attend. Instruction is at age-appropriate levels. Classes are on Sundays (September-May) from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Jr. Youth Ministry
Grades 7 & 8 Jr. Youth Ministry is designed to assist youth in the transition from elementary school to high school. Youth in Grades 7 and 8 are invited to build friendships, share their faith, and discover their gifts and talents through fun activities. The program also includes study of Scripture and exploring the Catholic faith.
Youth Ministry
Grades 9 and above The Youth Ministry Program aims to empower the youth in our community to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. This program offers teens in grades 9-12 an opportunity to gather with their peers to share their faith and have fun in a supportive atmosphere. Teens are encouraged to participate in the various activities planned, which include movie Bible study nights, service projects and Windward Vicariate and Diocesan Youth events.
Adult Faith Formation
This program is designed to assist adults, young and old alike, to deepen their relationship with the Lord through various enrichment opportunities. Speakers present various topics related to the life and teachings of the Church.
